Whole Home Wifi Additional Boosters – Residential

The Whole Home Wifi Booster is a device that amplifies and extends the range of a wifi signal,improving the coverage and reliability of a home wifi network. When offered as part of the Whole Home Wifi service, the Wifi Booster can help improve the overall performance of the network by providing better coverage and reducing dead spots in areas where the main wifi
signal is weak.

These devices are installed by the customer, with guidance from our support team on placement. If a customer would like Mainstream to install these devices, there is a $50 site visit charge.

Mainstream Digital Voice – Residential

Digital voice refers to the conversion of the analog voice signal at the telephone or fax machine into a digital signal for transmission over the digital network, using voice over IP (VoIP) technology. The signal is then converted back into an analog signal at the receiving end for use with a standard telephone.

Mainstream does not recommend or support faxing, alarm systems, or other life safety systems with our Digital Voice Service. You are responsible for setup, programming, and troubleshooting of your own equipment. This includes the existing phone wiring in your home or business.

Mainstream Digital Voice comes with 2000 minutes (local and long distance) per line. After that, you will be billed for $0.03 per minute. Mainstream does not support international calling, and long distance includes CANADA / US48 only. Each phone line will include a single DID (telephone number). Additional DID’s are billed separately.

If you have an existing telephone number that you would like to use, you will need to submit a port request to your existing carrier. We will provide you the paperwork for this, and we will need a copy of your phone bill. Do not cancel or change service with your existing carrier until this process is complete.

Business Services:

Static Block – 1 Usable

“Static block – 1 usable” is a term used in the context of a limited pool of IP addresses that can be used for a specific service or network. It refers to a block of IP addresses that are assigned to an organization and cannot be changed, with only one address from the block being usable for the intended purpose.

Mainstream will provide the full static block information to the customer, who is responsible for programming there router with this information.

Static Block – 5 Usable

“Static block – 5 usable” is a term used in the context of a limited pool of IP addresses that can be used for a specific service or network. It refers to a block of IP addresses that are assigned to an organization and cannot be changed, with only 5 addresses from the block being usable for the intended purpose.

Mainstream will provide the full static block information to the customer, who is responsible for programming there router with this information.

“Static block – 13 usable” is a term used in the context of a limited pool of IP addresses that can be used for a specific service or network. It refers to a block of IP addresses that are assigned to an organization and cannot be changed, with only 13 addresses from the block being usable for the intended purpose.

Mainstream will provide the full static block information to the customer, who is responsible for programming their router with this information.

Single Reserved IP Address Free

A reserved IP address is an IP address that is assigned to customer’s router and does not change, even if the router is restarted. This service is optional and can be requested by customers who want to ensure that their device always has the same IP address, which can be useful for a variety of applications such as remote access, gaming, and hosting services. By reserving the IP address, the customer’s network configuration remains stable, avoiding the need to update device settings or reconfigure network services whenever the IP address changes.

Mainstream Managed Voice – Business

Managed Voice refers to a hosted PBX (Private Branch Exchange) solution where MSFN manages and maintains the PBX system and offers advanced PBX features such as voicemail, IVR (Interactive Voice Response), ring groups, etc. through a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone that MSFN programs and provides.

As part of this service, Mainstream will provide an IP phone that is powered by POE or an optional power adapter. These phones will require an Ethernet network connection to customer network, along with access to the internet.

SIP Trunk

A Business SIP Trunk (Session Initiation Protocol Trunk) is a technology that allows you to make and receive voice calls over the internet, instead of traditional telephone lines. SIP Trunks replace the traditional PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) lines and offer a more flexible and cost-effective solution for businesses to manage their communication needs. SIP Trunks are essentially shared virtual telephone lines that enable employees to make and receive calls using their Mainstream Managed Voice phones.

Each SIP Trunk comes with 2000 minutes (local and long distance) per line. After that, you will be billed $0.03 per minute. Mainstream does not support international calling, and long distance includes CANADA / US48 only. Each SIP Trunk will include a single DID (telephone number).

Additional DID’s are billed separately.

If customer is using their own phone system, then customer is responsible for ensuring all 911 requirements are met as mandated by state or federal requirements. Mainstream will assist with configuring 911 callback numbers, location addressing, etc. Each extension is required to have a
unique 911 DID, and each addressable location is required to have its own 911 location.

Business Fax ATA

A Business Fax ATA is a service MSFN provides that allows faxing over the internet. A dedicated hardware device is installed in your business that connects to your fax machine with a standard phone line.

Additional DID

A DID (Direct Inward Dialing) is a telephone number that allows direct access to a specific extension or telephone line within a company or organization. It enables incoming calls to be routed directly to an individual extension, or to any destination on the phone system.

Additional 911 Locations

A 911 location is the physical address associated with a telephone number, which is used by emergency services to determine the location of the caller in case of a 911 call. It is important for the 911 location to be accurately registered and updated in the phone system, as it can be used by emergency responders to dispatch the appropriate resources in case of an emergency.
