Mainstream's Story

  • Founded in 2006 by Bryan Gabriel, Mainstream Fiber Networks began as an IT consulting company in Nashville, Indiana, and quickly evolved into a provider of high-speed internet for underserved rural communities. After seeing a need for fast-reliable fiber internet in the Brown County Schools. Mainstream decided as a company that they could provide a better experience for the school.

  • In 2012, the company launched its first major fiber-optic project, connecting Brown County Schools and expanding to homes and businesses. Without Mainstream's commitment to provide fiber internet to the school corporation it would have closed its doors. That was not an option for Mainstream, who was able to step in and bring a better connection to all students, which in turn helped raise test scores and improve digital learning.

  • In 2015, Mainstream partnered with the Harrison County Community Foundation to create a 115-mile fiber optic loop, growing rapidly and reaching over 8,000 homes.

  • The company continued expanding, partnering with local leaders and Indiana’s “Next Level Connections” program to bring high-speed internet to more counties. With the help of Next Level Connections through Indiana funding, Mainstream has been able to complete projects quicker and more effectively. Providing fiber internet to customers faster and giving customers fiber internet they deserve.

  • Today, Mainstream serves 13 counties, committed to bridging the digital divide and delivering reliable internet to Indiana’s rural communities.
