to Our Communities
At Mainstream Fiber, we are dedicated the communities we serve and live in and are actively working to give back as much as we can. Our mission is to help foster and grow the Hoosier communities we are in.
Public Wi-Fi Access Points
The COVID-19 pandemic proved that many communities throughout Indiana were in need of additional connectivity. Mainstream Fiber Networks moved quickly during this time to create 11 free public Wi-Fi access points across 3 counties we served in southern Indiana: Brown, Harrison, and Washington that provide free Wi-Fi access to anyone who needed it, no fee or password required.
We are currently continuing this commitment to our communities by providing Wifi connectivity to 9 additional locations in Crawford County, with more being adding to our other communities in the coming months
Sponsorships and Events
Mainstream Fiber Networks is focused
on helping to educate the communities we serve. We work together with schools and community leaders to help sponsor STEM, robotics, and other technical programs.
We also understand that certain events can be the lifeblood of a rural communities, such as Fairs and Heritage weekends, and we are dedicated to helping these events continue to grow.
Community Job Creation
Mainstream Fiber Networks helps create jobs in the communities we serve by building local offices staffed by community residents, and by hiring our Outside Plant Crew and Installers directly from the areas they will build our network in.
We are a company built for Hoosiers by Hoosiers, and we are always looking to bring on new team members that share in our vision.
West Washington Schools
Prior to 2016, West Washington School Corporation was using a wireless internet connection with minimal reliability and slow speeds of only 100 mbps. Keith Nance, the school superintendent, worked with Mainstream Fiber to bring fiber optic internet to the schools.
Now that the school has fiber, it has completely changed the atmosphere an the way students learn. West Washington School is now a leading 21st Century Learning Environment and provides its students with either a Chromebook or iPad, and helped prepare them for the digital classrooms that were required during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Keith Nance has said that they've noticed that students have improved the way they learn, receive information, and get feedback due to the access to fiber, and his is thankful for being able to receive the quality of internet found mostly in cities. "The West Washington Corportation is extremely grateful to Mainstream for the service they brought to our school and the service they continue to provide to our children and community," he said.
Going Beyond Simple Internet Access
We believe in educating our communities to get the most from their fiber connection. We are currently working to build a library of content to help teach and train you get the most out of the internet, please keep an eye out on this page as we add more content.
Honoring Our Veterans
This Veterans Day, we are especially privileged to share the story of Patty Frensemeier, a veteran who embodies the spirit of service not just in uniform but in her civilian life as well. After her time in the military, Patty pursued her passion and now runs a thriving business, Friends O'Mine, a camper and cabin rental in Brown County, Indiana, made possible with the support of our reliable internet services. Her journey from serving her country to becoming a leader in her community is a testament to the strength and determination that defines our veterans.
Stories like Patty Frensemeier's remind us of the invaluable contributions that veterans make long after they have left active duty. They bring unique perspectives, skills, and leadership qualities that enrich our communities and fuel progress.
At Mainstream Fiber Networks, we are honored to provide services that empower veterans like Patty to achieve their dreams. We believe in fostering connections that support growth, innovation, and success for everyone—including those who have given so much for our nation.
