Support
We make getting connected simple. Here’s what happens before, during, and after your fiber installation.
Installation Day
Installation typically takes just a few hours from start to finish.
Our technician will need access to both the inside and outside of your home.
Small drilling may be required to safely run the fiber line into your home.
We’ll test your connection before leaving to ensure everything is working properly.
Installation Process
Step 1
After you sign up for service, you’ll receive an automated text message and/or email with available installation dates. Simply select the date and time that works best for your schedule. We need to ensure someone 18 years or older is home during the installation, so please plan accordingly.
Step 2
When our technician arrives, they’ll walk through your property with you to discuss the best location for the equipment. Together, you’ll decide where your Network Interface Device (NID) and router will go based on practical considerations and equipment placement requirements.
Step 3
A Network Interface Device (NID) will be attached to the exterior of your home. A fiber-optic cable will run from the NID on the exterior directly through a small entry point in the wall to the router inside.
Step 4
Your service is activated while our technician is still on-site to ensure everything works perfectly. We test your connection, confirm performance, and answer any questions you may have. Once activated, your billing cycle begins, and you’re ready to enjoy fast, reliable fiber internet throughout your home.
After your installation, if an underground fiber bury is necessary, we will partner with 811 to locate and mark the public utilities on your property. However, please note that private utilities (such as septic lines, irrigation systems, or private power lines) will not be marked by 811 or by us. If you have private utilities on your property, please let us know! Send an email to install@msfiber.net with details about their location. This information helps us determine the safest and best place to bury the fiber line.
The process to bury the temporarily above-ground fiber can take up to 30 days and may vary depending on utility locates and weather.
