Community Connections: Empowering Every Hoosier

At Mainstream, we believe high-speed fiber is more than just a luxury. It's a bridge to education, enhance healthcare access, and improve
economic opportunity.
Our Community Connections initiative is dedicated to ensuring that every resident in the counties we serve
has the tools, the technology, and the talent to succeed in an everchanging digital world.

Accessible Connectivity

We are committed to making fiber affordable. Through subsidized service plans and local partnerships, we ensure that financial barriers don't stand in the way of high-speed access for low-income families and seniors. .

The Hardware Resource

Internet is only the first step. We partner with local organizations to provide refurbished laptops and tablets to students and job seekers, ensuring the "homework gap" becomes a thing of the past. .

Digital Literacy & Safety

Technology can be intimidating. We host local workshops across our service areas to teach essential skills from navigating telehealth appointments to staying safe from online scams and learning web basics.

Public Wi-Fi Access Points

The COVID-19 pandemic proved that many communities throughout Indiana were in need of additional connectivity. Mainstream Fiber Networks moved quickly during this time to create 11 free public Wi-Fi access points across 3 counties we served in southern Indiana: Brown, Harrison, and Washington that provide free Wi-Fi access to anyone who needed it, no fee or password required.

We are currently continuing this commitment to our communities by providing  Wi-Fi connectivity to 9 additional locations in Crawford County, with more being adding to our other communities in the coming months

Sponsorships and Events

Mainstream Fiber Networks is focused
on helping to educate the communities we serve. We work together with schools and community leaders to help sponsor STEM, robotics, and other technical programs.

We also understand that certain events can be the lifeblood of a rural communities, such as Fairs and Heritage weekends, and we are dedicated to helping these events continue to grow.

Community Job Creation

Mainstream Fiber Networks helps create jobs in the communities we serve by building local offices staffed by community residents, and by hiring our Outside Plant Crew and Installers directly from the areas they will build our network in.

We are a company built for Hoosiers by Hoosiers, and we are always looking to bring on new team members that share in our vision.

Going Beyond Simple Internet Access

Our commitment to the communities we serve extends far beyond providing a high-speed connection; we believe in empowering our neighbors with the knowledge and skills required to truly master their digital world. We are currently curating an extensive educational library designed to help you navigate everything from home network security and Wi-Fi optimization to the latest in smart-home technology, ensuring that every household can maximize the value of their fiber investment.

This resource hub is evolving daily with step-by-step guides and expert tips tailored to your needs, so we encourage you to bookmark this page and check back frequently as we continue to expand our library of digital training content.

West Washington School Corporation

Before 2016, West Washington School Corporation struggled with an unreliable 100 Mbps wireless connection until Superintendent Keith Nance partnered with Mainstream Fiber to install a high-speed fiber optic network. This infrastructure upgrade transformed the district into a leading 21st-century learning environment, equipping every student with a Chromebook or iPad and ensuring a seamless transition to digital classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Nance, "the city-grade reliability has fundamentally improved how students process information and receive feedback, creating a lasting positive impact on both the children and the broader community."
