Our Story

In 2006, our CEO, Bryan Gabriel, founded an IT consulting and computer services company in Nashville, Indiana. While running the company, it became apparent that there was a need for high-speed internet in Indiana’s rural communities. He founded a wireless internet service provider and over time this wireless internet venture slowly morphed into the fiber optic internet company known as Mainstream Fiber Networks.

In October of 2012, Mainstream Fiber Networks’ first major build was completed. the project was to ensure that all students in the Brown County Schools had fast and reliable internet.

Shortly thereafter, the company began to expand its fiber optic network into the rest of Brown County, providing over 21 miles of fiber optic cable.

On February 15, 2015, Mainstream Fiber Networks partnered with the Harrison County Community Foundation and Chamber of Commerce to initiate a 115-mile fiber optic loop providing service throughout the county. Following this partnership, Mainstream experienced substantial growth, doubling in size annually.

The mainline fiber loop in Harrison County was completed on October 14, 2018, extending over 115 miles and serving more than 100 neighborhoods and 8,000 homes and businesses. Due to high community interest, the project's scope was expanded, adding another 115 miles of fiber, effectively doubling its coverage.

By January 1, 2019, Mainstream Fiber Networks had expanded into Floyd County and collaborated with Warrick County Economic Development on a significant fiber optic project. Mainstream Fiber Networks has continued its expansion efforts, aiming to provide affordable internet solutions across rural Indiana.

In 2020 and 2021, we received Next Level Connection grants to extend services into underserved areas of Floyd, Crawford, and Benton County. We have continued to expand our network and now serve 10 counties in Indiana!
