Mainstream Fiber Networks is dedicated to delivering reliable fiber optic broadband networks to rural communities that need it most. Most of your county has poor access to reliable, high-speed internet at an affordable value.
We are working alongside your community to investigate the need for service in your area. The data collected here by residents in Crawford County will aid in the application of state funding that could jumpstart a milestone broadband project.
Indiana has recently issued a $100 million grant program dedicated to bringing broadband service into rural areas of the state that are suffering from extremely limited access. Each community has the opportunity to apply for funding that would aid in bringing new network infrastructure and internet service to areas through the county.

Of 92 counties, Crawford County is the least served county in the state of Indiana in terms of broadband connectivity. This means that the vast majority of the county does not have unlimited access to at least 10 mbps upload speed. Mainstream speeds start at 100 mpbs, which is 10x the speed with no data capping!
Mainstream Fiber is a locally owned and operated fiber optic internet provider based out of Nashville, Indiana. Their team delivers comprehensive community infrastructure and superior fiber optic services to rural communities in Indiana.
Like other major utilities, construction of a fiber optic network is completed through aerial and underground installment of cable along an engineered route.
Mainstream offers multiple residential internet speeds and voice services with unlimited usage, simplified billing, and a 100% fiber optic connection delivered directly to each residence. Speeds will start at 100mbps and range up to 1GB. See msfiber.net for comparable service offers. Business Fiber and Dedicated Business Fiber services will be available to small and large businesses at custom package offerings.
Basic internet service through Mainstream currently starts at $59.95/month with no additional fees and a locked monthly rate for the full term of the contract. For comparable service offerings, visit msfiber.net. Service updates will follow.
Current standard installation with Mainstream is $200.00. An installation technician runs fiber cable from the mainline directly to the side of the home. Provided equipment is then placed: Network Interface Device (NID) on the exterior of the residence, Wi-Fi router, and 8-hour battery back up (to be used in the event of a power outage).
Fiber optic service is the most reliable type of internet service available because the cables are often on the same poles, or underground, with your electrical wires. You should have service if you have electricity. Typically the service is only interrupted by a true break in the cable or regular network upgrades.
Mainstream currently offers four residential fiber internet download speeds: 100mbps, 250mbps, 500mbps, and 1Gb. Visit our services page for additional information.
If service were available in your area, Mainstream will buy out your existing service agreement up to a set amount, making the switch easier.
No. All of Mainstream’s plans include unlimited data. There are no caps or throttling. You are simply selecting the speeds you need.
As part of the partnership project and future expansions, Mainstream covers the cost of construction for installing the mainline fiber cables in your neighborhood zone. You are then responsible for the cost of installation from the mainline cable to your home. This is included in the standard installation cost.
All equipment to get the service into your home is provided by and warranted through Mainstream. However, if you would like additional Wi-Fi coverage or other options, you would need to purchase separate equipment.
